High School Mission Trip
Living within the bustle of the invigorating city of St.
Louis are a large and growing percentage of poor
struggling for their daily survival. St. Louis is a
beautiful, diverse, historic city that faces many of the
same poverty issues as other large cities across America.
Over the past two years we've seen poverty in the small
rural town of Logan, West Virginia and across the
border in Juarez, Mexico. This year we'll confront a
different type of poverty. One that is closer to home
both geographically and culturally. Here the face of
poverty is no more friendly or forgiving but it is slightly
more familiar.
During our week in St. Louis we will be working
through YouthWorks! partnering with local service
organizations within the community. We will work first
hand to combat poverty and also learn about some of
the helping groups that lead the battle for the poor, the
voiceless, and the down and out.
Good Shepherd has 12 or 13 spots available to students
currently in grades 10-12. You can reserve your spot by
getting your deposit into Mark or the GSC office.
