Juarez, Mexico - Mission Trip 2005
Was the trip amazing?
The group on a hill overlooking Juarez
Good Shepherd's first ever international mission trip was
this year to Juarez, Mexico.  Combined with its
American counterpart or El Paso these two cities make
up the world's largest border city.  The Mexican side is
plagued with poverty but populated by some of the most
generous and giving people you will ever meet in your
travels.

Our time with Youthworks was directly connected to
the local church community of the neighborhood we
lived, worked and played for a week.  We worked
alongside the Pastor daily at our two work sites where
we were building houses and the summer long Kid's
Club (Club de Ninos) was hosted on the church grounds.
Us and the 40 some people from three other
midwestern congregations divided up into teams and
split our work between the challenging building at the
house sites and the various activities that allowed us to
interact with the local young kids.

Needless to say, a good time was had by all and we all
returned home a bit changed for the better.  Talk with
Mark to get information about our 2006 mission trip to
Logan, West Virginia in the Appalachian mountains.
